EdenFields Golf Club was founded on 9th December 2015. Until her death in 2023 Dale Reid, the former Solheim Cup Captain was an Honary Member of our club. We are a mixed membership club with all our golf competitions played in mixed fields. Our home course is Elmwood Golf Course, Stratheden, By Cupar, Fife.
Handicaps range from 5 to 45 (and are permitted to be as high as 54). Our members enjoy a mix of counting competitions, varying formats of social golf as well as other social events and an away golfing day each year. We have one club committee with office bearers being elected by the members at our AGM in December.
We have two types of membership, playing and social. The current playing membership fee is £45 per year and the Social membership fee is £5 per year. We are prepared for Junior membership should we receive any applications and we have a designated Safeguarding Officer registered with Scottish Golf. Members who join us have the option to join Elmwood Golf (currently offering a very attractive deal with membership packages on offer) as 5 or 7 day members or they can opt to pay and play.
We were the first voting club to be affiliated under the (then) newly formed Sottish Golf Limited and we are authorised to manage player's handicaps in accordance with the World Handicapping System (referred to as WHS). We use the SG DotGolf to manage our membership, club news, competitions and handicaps.
Our summer counting season runs from April until late October. From November until late March we have a full winter programme of golf with non counting (played over 15 holes) and counting competitions played over (9 holes) .
Main playing days are Tuesday and Thursday with Alternate Days Play on Saturday. Our competitions vary from 18 holes, 9 holes 12 holes and 15 holes. Competitions and social golf are played from white, yellow and red tee markers. Our tee times are pre booked with Elmwood Golf but where the competition conditions permit it, players may play outside those pre booked tee times.
In April we host a guest charity fund raising day. Our Club championships are played over three weeks in June and our Captain's day is in August. Annual prize giving takes place in November. In December we hold our Christmas Golf and lunch day where members invite family and friends to join us for the lunch.
Our club prides itself in the work we do to raise funds for national or local causes/charities. Each year our members choose a designated charity for the following year. In 2016 we raised funds for Diabetes (Scotland) and in 2017 we raised £3225 for Barnardos Scotland. We have raised funds for Tarvit Ward at Adamson Hospital to enable them to purchase a much needed blood monitoring unit for the ward. In 2019 we supported the RNLI Anstruther, by donating sufficient funds to cover the cost of training one of their new volunteers. During the Covid pandemic we were able to raise £825 which was donated to Options In Life, St, Andrews so that they could continue to support young people who needed their help. In 2022 we raised £1500 for Kilmaron School, Cupar to help them purchase an outside swing seat and musical instruments for the children. In 2023 we raised £1000 for Age Concern, Cupar and we also supported them again in 2024, raising £1045.
We are a small club with a big heart and our members make the club what it is - a very friendly and welcoming club.
